Pose (TV Show)

"Pose" is an FX drama series that ran from 2018 to 2021, co-created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Steven Canals. Set in New York City's ballroom scene of the late 1980s and 1990s, it follows rival houses competing on the ball floor while chosen families care for one another through the AIDS crisis. The show made history with the largest cast of transgender actors in series regular roles, including Mj Rodriguez, Indya Moore, Dominique Jackson, Hailie Sahar, and Angelica Ross, alongside LGBTQ writers and producers such as Janet Mock behind the camera. It centered Black and Latinx queer and trans lives with unusual tenderness, and Billy Porter won an Emmy for his lead performance.
