Puppy Play
A form of BDSM roleplay in which one or more participants take on the behavior, gear, and persona of a dog, often centered on trust and playfulness rather than sex.
Puppy play, also called pup play, is a kind of animal roleplay in which participants take on the mannerisms, behavior, and attitudes of a dog, often facilitated by specialist gear made from leather, rubber, latex, or neoprene. A dominant partner may take the role of handler, trainer, or master, while an "alpha" pup can lead others. Puppy play can be sexual, non-sexual, or somewhere in between; for many practitioners the appeal lies in the psychological freedom, playfulness, and deep trust of the pup and handler dynamic rather than sex itself. It is closely linked to leather and BDSM culture and, like other kink, rests on consent, negotiation, and aftercare. The scene has grown into a global subculture with its own events and community.
