Scissoring

Scissoring, also called tribbing or tribadism, is a sexual act in which two people, usually women or people with vulvas, press and rub their genitals together for pleasure. The name comes from the way the partners' spread legs can cross like the blades of a pair of scissors. There are many variations, and grinding against a partner's thigh, hip, or other body part counts too. Pop culture and porn made for straight male audiences have exaggerated the position to the point of caricature, which leads some to dismiss it as a myth. In reality it is one of many genuine ways queer women and nonbinary people enjoy sex, and preferences vary from couple to couple.
