Sugar Mommy

A sugar mommy, also called a sugar mama, is the female provider in a sugar dating arrangement. She is typically older and wealthier and gives a younger partner financial support, gifts, or other material benefits in exchange for companionship, romance, or intimacy. The role mirrors that of a sugar daddy and shows up in lesbian, bisexual, and queer women's relationships as well as heterosexual ones. The term is useful because it challenges the assumption that sugar arrangements are always driven by men. Like all sugar relationships, it lives in the space between conventional dating and an openly transactional arrangement.
