Tranarchist

Tranarchist is a blend of "transgender" and "anarchist," describing a trans person whose politics are anarchist. The related idea, tranarchism, is a small but active current of thought and writing that links transness with anarchist principles, connecting the trans experience of moving beyond an assigned category with anarchism's rejection of imposed hierarchy. Tranarchist thinking often critiques mainstream trans-rights approaches that work within existing state and economic systems, arguing instead for deeper structural change and self-determination over gender. The term is a fairly recent neologism, discussed in anarchist publications and academic work, and it reflects the wide range of political views held within transgender communities.
