Clutch names The Gaygency a top LGBTQ-owned agency

By The Gaygency · 11-07-26 · 4 min read

Clutch has named The Gaygency one of its top LGBTQ-owned agencies. The B2B ratings and reviews platform recognized us for advertising, creative work and public relations in 2026, for digital marketing in New York City, and for graphic design across the United States.

We're an LGBTQ+-owned marketing agency in New York, started by Daniel Montelongo in 2022. Below is what each award covers and how Clutch chooses its winners.

What did Clutch recognize The Gaygency for?

Clutch gave The Gaygency five awards, all in its LGBTQ-owned category. That means we were measured against other LGBTQ-owned firms on Clutch, not against every agency on the platform. Three of the awards are for 2026 by type of work, one is for New York City and one covers the whole United States.

The official badges sit on our About page, and our profile is public at clutch.co/profile/gaygency. You'll also find us in the Leaders Matrix, the chart at the top of Clutch's directory of LGBTQ-owned agencies.

How does Clutch decide who is a top LGBTQ-owned agency?

Each badge combines two things Clutch checks separately. "LGBTQ Owned" is an ownership recognition: a company applies, and Clutch confirms it is at least 51% owned by LGBTQ individuals through a third-party certification where one exists, or through a video interview (Clutch research methodology, 2026). "Top" is a Leader Award, which Clutch gives to the highest-performing providers "by service focus, business certification, and other factors" (Clutch Help Center). Clutch's methodology says companies holding an ownership recognition are eligible for these certification-specific awards.

Performance on Clutch is measured with a 40-point score called Ability to Deliver, and Clutch says its awards are "drawn from the same underlying data that determines Clutch Rank":

Part of the score Points What Clutch looks at
Reviews 20 Star rating, how recent the reviews are, whether each one is verified, and the project budget
Clients and experience 10 The type and quality of clients, plus portfolio case studies
Market presence 10 Web presence, domain authority, industry recognition and thought leadership

A few of Clutch's rules tell you how much a badge is worth. Only verified reviews count toward the score, and recent reviews count the most. Clutch's methodology states that sponsorship does not affect award selection. And a human editor checks every review before it's published: Clutch reports rejecting 10% of submitted reviews in 2025 for signs of falsified information (Clutch research methodology).

What do The Gaygency's Clutch reviews say?

As of November 2026, The Gaygency has a 5.0 rating on Clutch from three client reviews (Clutch profile). Three is a small number, and we'd rather tell you that than let a badge imply more.

Dr. Israel Martinez, who owns a psychotherapy practice in Montclair, New Jersey, put it this way: "I was impressed with how they ran everything." Clutch's summary of that review says we created a brand guide, a new website with AI chat assistance and social media campaigns, and that the practice reached its target number of new customers within a few months.

Is The Gaygency a top digital marketing agency in New York?

Among LGBTQ-owned agencies, yes. Clutch named The Gaygency a Top Digital Marketing Company among LGBTQ-owned firms in New York City, and a Top Graphic Design Company among LGBTQ-owned firms in the United States. Neither award ranks us against every agency in New York or the country. If you want a partner owned by our community, the LGBTQ-owned comparison is the one that answers your question.
