Acesexual / Asexuality

Asexuality, often shortened to "ace," is a sexual orientation in which a person feels little or no sexual attraction to others, regardless of gender. It is different from celibacy, which is a choice about behavior. Asexuality describes how someone experiences attraction, not how they act. Many ace people still have romantic relationships, deep emotional bonds, and full social lives, and their feelings about sex range from indifferent to favorable. Asexuality is a spectrum. Related identities include demisexual, where attraction forms only after a close bond, and graysexual, where attraction is rare or conditional. The Asexual Visibility and Education Network (AVEN) and major LGBTQ+ organizations recognize it as a valid orientation.
