Achillean

Achillean is an umbrella term for men and man-aligned people who are attracted to other men and man-aligned people. It gathers gay, bisexual, pansexual, and queer men-loving-men identities under one word, and can be used on its own or added to another label to note a focus on attraction to men. The term is named for the Greek hero Achilles and his close bond with Patroclus, long read as a same-sex love story, so it reclaims classical history to name love between men. Its counterpart for women and woman-aligned people is sapphic, and it sits alongside vincian as a related men-loving-men label. Achillean is used both as a personal identity and as community shorthand similar to MLM.
