Allosexual
Allosexual describes a person who experiences sexual attraction to others, in contrast with people on the asexual spectrum.
Allosexual describes a person who regularly experiences sexual attraction to others, in contrast with people on the asexual spectrum, who feel little or none. The asexual community coined the word so that experiencing attraction has its own neutral name rather than being treated as the unmarked default. It is an umbrella term: heterosexual, gay, lesbian, bisexual, and pansexual people are all allosexual because each involves sexual attraction to someone. Sometimes shortened to allo, the term says nothing about who a person is attracted to or how often, only that the capacity for sexual attraction is present. Using it helps frame asexuality as one identity among many.
