Gender Euphoria
Gender euphoria is the joy, comfort, and satisfaction a person feels when their gender is recognized and their expression or body aligns with who they are.
Gender euphoria is the sense of joy, relief, or rightness a person feels when their gender is affirmed, whether through hearing the correct name and pronouns, wearing clothing that feels true to them, or seeing physical changes that match their identity. The Trevor Project defines it as the satisfaction or joy that comes when someone's gender experience or expression aligns with their gender. The term has grown common in transgender and non-binary communities over the past decade as a positive counterpart to gender dysphoria. Where dysphoria names the pain of misalignment, euphoria names the good feeling of alignment. Many advocates and researchers now center euphoria as a goal of affirmation rather than only the absence of distress.
