GG

GG is short for genetic girl, an older abbreviation once common in cross-dressing, drag, and transgender communities to describe a cisgender woman, meaning someone assigned female at birth who identifies as a woman. Related variants include GM for genetic male and RG for real girl. The term has fallen out of favor because the framing implies that trans women are somehow less genuinely women, and because words like genetic and real draw a hard line that most people now find inaccurate and unkind. Contemporary usage prefers precise, affirming language such as cisgender woman or cis woman. GG mostly survives now as a historical term.
