Gynephilia

Gynephilia is sexual or romantic attraction to women or to femininity, described independently of the gender of the person feeling it.

Gynephilia (also spelled gynophilia) means attraction to women, female-presenting people, or femininity. The term focuses on who a person is drawn to rather than the gender of the person doing the attracting, which is what makes it useful. Saying a man is heterosexual or a woman is a lesbian folds in assumptions about the subject's own gender, while gynephilia simply names the object of attraction. That neutrality makes it especially helpful in describing the attractions of transgender and nonbinary people, where words like gay and straight can get confusing. It comes from Greek roots meaning "woman" and "love," and was used in sexology as a counterpart to androphilia. A closely related everyday term is gynesexual or gynosexual.
