Salmacian

Salmacian describes a person who wishes to have a mixed set of sex characteristics, most often both a penis and a vagina, sometimes called wanting a mixed genital set. It is one of several "altersex" identities, terms for people whose ideal body does not fit a strictly male or female template. The word references the Greek myth of the nymph Salmacis, whose body merged with that of Hermaphroditus. Salmacian people can be of any gender or orientation, and being Salmacian does not require surgery or make someone intersex, transgender, or nonbinary, though a person may be any of these. The term circulates mainly in online gender-diverse communities, where it affirms bodies outside the binary.
