Transfeminine / Transfem
Transfeminine (or transfem) is an umbrella term for transgender, nonbinary, or gender-nonconforming people, usually assigned male at birth, whose gender leans feminine.
Transfeminine, often shortened to transfem or transfemme, is an umbrella term for people whose gender identity or expression is mainly feminine and who were typically assigned male at birth. It covers trans women along with nonbinary and gender-nonconforming people who lean feminine but may not identify strictly as women. The term is broader than 'trans woman,' which makes it useful in medical, advocacy, and community settings where a range of feminine-leaning identities share overlapping experiences and needs. Its counterpart is transmasculine (transmasc). People use these words differently, so the best guide to what someone means is how they describe themselves.
