Tuck / Tucking

Tucking is the practice of positioning and concealing the penis and testes to create a smooth, flat appearance in the groin.

Tucking is the practice of positioning and concealing the penis and testes to create a smooth, flat appearance in the groin area. Many trans women, non-binary people, and drag performers use it as a gender-affirming technique, and it is common across the LGBTQ+ community. Methods include tight underwear, medical tape, or a specialized garment called a 'gaff' that is designed to hold everything in place. Beyond aesthetics, tucking can ease gender dysphoria and, for some, feel safer in environments that may be hostile to visibly trans people. Health guidance stresses doing it comfortably and safely, avoiding overly long or overly tight tucks, which frames gender-affirming underwear as part of everyday self-care.
