Cross Dresser (CD)

A cross-dresser, sometimes shortened to CD, is a person who wears clothing typically associated with a gender different from the one they were assigned at birth. Most cross-dressers are cisgender and do not wish to permanently change their gender or transition, which is what distinguishes cross-dressing from being transgender. People cross-dress for many reasons, including self-expression, relaxation, and erotic enjoyment. The term is now generally preferred over the older word transvestite, which many people find clinical or dated. Cross-dressing is a behavior, not a sexual orientation, and cross-dressers can be of any orientation.
